
Kent Sorenson Biography
Kent Sorenson serves in the Iowa legislature as a State Senator for district 13 which encompasses all of Madison and Warren county with the exception of the town of Cummings. He was first elected to the Iowa House in 2008 and then elected to the Senate in 2010.
Kent has been community minded much of his adult life even before serving in the Iowa legislature. He served as a volunteer fire fighter, a youth soccer coach, and President of the Indianola Soccer Tribe. Kent served in numerous volunteer positions at his local church and lives a Christ centered life.
Kent has always had and continues to have an entrepreneurial spirit. Before joining the the EXIT Realty North Star team. Kent owned and operated numerous small to medium sized businesses some of which are still open and thriving today.
Kent is married to Shawnee his wife of 23 years. They have six children which they homeschool. Kent and his family enjoy many activities together, fishing, hunting, archery, boating and homesteading on their acreage near Milo, Iowa.
